Smart Solution by “Oracle Utilities: Customer Care and Billing”
IT teams all over the country worked very hard over the weekend due to the new VAT regulation and the whole weekend was spent with planned/unplanned software and system updates until the morning.
According to the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, Value Added Tax rates have been updated. The article of the relevant decision is as follows;
“The first paragraph of Article 1 of the Decree on the Determination of Value Added Tax Rates to be Applied to Goods and Services, which was put into effect with the Decree of the Council of Ministers dated 24/12/2007 and numbered 2007/13033;
a) The phrase “18%” in subparagraph (a) as “20%”,
b) The phrase “8%” in subparagraph © shall be changed to “10%”,
Amended.”
This law will have serious repercussions for systems that provide services and generate invoices that include VAT as a result of a large amount of accruals. Managing this process will require intensive and critical labor within the constraints and opportunities of the products used.
The importance of using the right software product has come to light once again, especially for companies with a large number of customers and invoicing as many customers. In these structures, where even very small percentage errors can cause serious financial damage, all scenarios should be reviewed with perfect precision and requirements and use cases should be prepared completely.
Aswith the VAT update for IT teams; keeping up with the regulatory demands on top of the current workload can sometimes be too much of a burden due to limited human resources.
In the Utility sector, we provide “Billing & Charging” and “Subscriber Management” software development services to one of the largest energy companies of our country as “Managed Service” and Oracle’s CC&B solution is used on the billing side. Upon the VAT update regulation request, relevant analyzes were made quickly with the URGENT code, configurations and developments could be made in the fastest way and tests were successfully carried out.
Thanks to the Oracle CC&B product, with its “Rate Schedule” tariff structure, with great flexibility and simplicity, Oracle has made such developments that require serious operations can be solved with a very simple update, so to speak. Oracle Customer Care & Billing (CC&B)
Inthe image above, the “new invoice factor” has been added as a rate. This value will be added with the effective date and all invoices that will be recognized after the relevant day will now be calculated with the new rate. In the “Unit Price Selection Date Algorithm” option, the calculation method of the value to be used when calculating the invoice is also optional. The constraint application algorithm can be selected and a comparison can be made, the invoice date “take the current value” can be selected and the entire value can be applied according to the invoice date value, or the creation date option can be selected and the current value on the date the invoice was created can be used.
With the configurable and flexible structure in CC&B, even the most serious operations can be controlled and monitored. The bundle can be quickly switched to the relevant environments without the need for code updates. The right solution, the right team and expertise brings you to the forefront of the sector. In this way, you will enjoy having a dynamic pricing and billing infrastructure in the energy sector, electricity distribution and retail processes. All that remains is to serve your customers professionally and smoothly with the right and specialized human resources.
