Amazon Web Services (AWS) to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
Wehave migrated more than 2 TB database data from AWS to OCI including all other application infrastructure. Here is the list what we have migrated and what we have achieved.
• Oracle DB
• MySQL DB
• Mongo DB
• Nginx
• Centos Linux Servers to Oracle Linux Servers
• Load Balancers
• Object Storages, Buckets…
Ultimate Result
Better performance, cheaper monthly bill, massive scaling up opportunity by using ATP DB.

Question and Answers
What was the main motivation to migrate to OCI?
Fevzi Korkutata:
Oracle DB RDS instance at AWS is weak and expensive. Oracle ATP DB is unrivaled in this area. The ultimate result is; “better performance, cheaper monthly bills…” For achieving this result still an expert team is needed.
Well, 2 TB is not that much. But when I think about how much money AWS probably charged for exporting this data… still must have been quite a challenge 🤣
Fevzi Korkutata:
It’s not only DB size migration. I am going to provide a detail tech post about the migration. The project was big enough, consider unplugging 40+ compute instance including 10+ different type of application and database technologies then plugging in to OCI 🙂
